Import & export

Import your Hevy history

Export your data from Hevy — from hevy.com under Settings, or from the app, which sends the CSV to your account email. Then in Kustos open Settings → Export & Import Data → Import Data → Hevy and pick the file(s). Exercises match automatically, and re-importing the same file never creates duplicates.

Step 1: get your CSV out of Hevy

  1. The most direct route is the web: sign in at hevy.com, open Settings → Export & Backup, and download your data. You get two files: workout_data.csv (your workouts) and measurement_data.csv (your body measurements).
  2. You can also request the export from Hevy’s app settings — Hevy sends the CSV to the email address on your Hevy account. Open that email on your phone and save the attachment.
  3. Make sure the file(s) end up on the phone that has Kustos installed — the Files app, an email attachment, or a cloud drive all work.

Step 2: import into Kustos

  1. In Kustos, open the Profile tab and tap the gear to open Settings.
  2. Tap Export & Import Data, then Import Data.
  3. Pick Hevy from the list. The Import from Hevy screen recaps the export steps in case you still need the file.
  4. Tap Choose file(s) and select workout_data.csv, measurement_data.csv, or both at once.
  5. Wait for the import to run — large histories can take a moment.
  6. Review the Import complete summary: workouts imported, routines created, custom exercises created, and measurements imported.

What carries over

  • Every workout and set — weight, reps, set types, and RPE where your export includes them.
  • Body measurements, if you include measurement_data.csv.
  • Exercises, matched automatically to the Kustos catalog of 450 exercises using 12,244 name aliases — Hevy’s naming is one of the schemes the matcher knows. Anything that doesn’t match becomes a custom exercise, so nothing is lost.
  • Routines, rebuilt from your imported history so your regular sessions are ready to start.

Good to know

  • No signup needed. Import works in guest mode. Everything Kustos needs to understand your file ships inside the app — even a phone that has never been online can start as a guest and import a full history on-device.
  • Re-importing is safe. The importer recognizes workouts it has already brought in and skips them, so you can re-run an updated export any time without duplicates.
  • Something look off after importing? Contact support@kustosapp.com — attaching the CSV helps us fix it fast.

Do I need an account or internet to import?
No account — import works in guest mode with no signup. A guest who started the app offline imports entirely on-device. If you're signed in, Kustos syncs the imported workouts to your account as part of the import, which needs a connection.
Will importing the same file twice duplicate my workouts?
No. Re-importing the same file is safe — workouts that are already present are skipped, and the summary shows "Already up to date".
What if an exercise from Hevy isn't in the Kustos catalog?
Kustos creates it as a custom exercise automatically, so no set is ever dropped. The import summary shows how many custom exercises were created.
Do my Hevy routines come over?
Kustos rebuilds routines from your imported workout history rather than reading Hevy's routine list, so the workouts you actually repeat show up as routines you can start immediately.
